The monitor pyramid depicts why technical and business monitoring must be in place.
From the bottom to the top, you see technical monitoring. Items like disk space, CPU load, network switches, and power are typical technical monitoring items. Application monitoring can quickly check whether the applications (pools) are running. This is the best level for automatic failover and redirection on a system level. Although it can reach a certain distance, it will never reach the client level.
Similarly, we begin at the client level, a crucial point of interaction, but we will never delve into the technical details. If it fails from a client perspective, we have never encountered a client calling a helpdesk to report ‘disk full’ as an error message. This underscores the importance of client-level monitoring in our comprehensive system.
